The AAMC’s Medical Student and Resident Website Wins Gold at AVA Digital Awards 2016
Celerity is delighted to announce that its work on a major redesign of the medical student and resident section of the website for the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) has won Gold in the “Associations” category at the 2016 AVA Digital Awards competition.
The new AAMC website provides a visually engaging online experience for aspiring physicians, medical students, and residents to manage their medical careers—and serves as part of a larger effort to drive awareness around the AAMC’s brand and diverse product and service offerings. Celerity’s Digital Experience team worked closely with the AAMC to build an engaging online experience by applying an integrated focus to user experience design, technology requirements, and content strategy. The site is based on Django CMS to manage more than 1,500 content objects.
The site boasts an intuitive editorial workflow process that reduces change management timelines, and the infrastructure rapidly scales to handle high-traffic load during peak events like registration for the Medical College Admission Test® (MCAT®). It also integrates seamlessly with the main AAMC website and is aligned with the distinct needs of pre-med students, medical students, residents, and their advisors.
The AVA Digital Awards accept submissions from around the globe, and this year received over 2,500 entries from 17 countries. Their judges are industry professionals in the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP) who seek to recognize superior industry work across several facets of digital communication, including web, television, and social media. In an effort to encourage creative excellence, the AMCP offers a number of grants to professionals who dedicate their work to public service and charity.
