Celerity Steps Out For Our Community
McLEAN, VA – Good corporate responsibility has always been a top priority at Celerity and this October the Celerity community supported two great charities–the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and the American Diabetes Association (ADA). Celerity’s outreach efforts centered on annual fundraising walks: the LLS Light the Night Walk and the ADA Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes, both of which Celerity has contributed to for the past two years. To date Celerity has raised nearly $15,000 for both organizations. The Celerity Cares team was the fifth highest corporate fundraising team for the ADA walk.
As a national team for the LLS Light the Night Walk, Celerity participated in four walks in–Washington, DC; Pittsburgh, PA; Harrisburg, PA; and Richmond, VA. To advance LLS’s mission, over 50 Celerity employees joined forces to raise money and awareness for vital, lifesaving research and patient services for blood cancers. Over the past two years, the Celerity Cares team has contributed over $11,600 to LLS.
Celerity also teamed up to promote healthy living and raise funds to support diabetes research, education, and advocacy. “Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes” is the signature fundraising event to help find a cure for the 26 million Americans living with diabetes. United in our desire to make an impact for those battling the disease, including some of our own family members, our team of 22 walkers proudly raised over $3,000 and walked passionately despite the rain! One of our team members, Hannah Gough, was the fifth highest personal fundraiser.
By applying the same entrepreneurial vision to our community initiatives and charitable giving that underpins our company, Celerity partners with numerous organizations and nonprofits. With top-level support and involvement from all levels of the company, we continue to advance our philanthropic initiatives as we aim to make an impact on our local communities.
