Co-Sourced Application Development

Challenge: A leading US investment bank was faced with the challenge of rapidly developing new IT capabilities in support of new lines of business and compliance initiatives. The organization realized that it needed to quickly scale IT delivery capability to address this large portfolio of high-priority initiatives. Additionally, the organization sought assistance with improving internal IT functions and the capabilities of existing IT staff.

Solution: Celerity worked closely with IT executives to develop a co-sourcing model to increase IT delivery capacity, provide required technology and domain expertise, and improve the client’s delivery capabilities. Celerity provided teams of project managers, architects, developers and business analysts with relevant domain expertise to help define, prioritize and execute initiatives. Client staff participated as members of the Celerity teams, allowing for Celerity to mentor these resources and provide knowledge transfer throughout the course of each project. The Celerity project managers managed the co-sourced teams of both Celerity and client resources, with Celerity responsible for all aspects of project delivery.

Results: The client was able to address urgent business needs without placing undue burden on its existing business and IT resources by utilizing the expertise from Celerity’s team. The Celerity team also refined the client’s application development methodology and architecture best practices in order to facilitate improvements in future delivery of IT projects.
