Moving from Paper to Digital Platform Transforms Insurance Broker Experience.



A leading Blue Cross Blue Shield health insurance company was facing an overwhelming volume of renewal activity and needed to automate its slow, error-prone paper system to support scalability and growth. A new digital portal for brokers, which could facilitate both renewals and automate setup for new clients on any browser or platform, would provide a world class “Quote to Card” experience for small businesses purchasing healthcare plans.



Celerity leveraged leading edge technologies and cross-functional Agile teams to architect and implement a durable service-based platform paired with a lightweight front end. The front end can be easily changed or replaced as new BCBS’s are brought online and want to use the system as a managed service. Our Agile/Scrum approach allowed business rules and requirements to be discovered through the course of the project, while Celerity released key functionality to meet business needs.



Celerity built a scalable, unified platform for small group sales that exceeded the expectations of external brokers and internal users alike. Intuitive dashboards provide KPIs to executives, sales representatives, and brokers. Separation of the disposable front end and durable back end systems allows for rapid response to future needs and compliance with future devices, without complicated reconfiguring on the back end.

The solution was added to the client’s Blue Core platform, which is sold as a managed service to other insurance providers.
