The Post-Gazette wanted a mobile app to give Pittsburgh fans real-time access to everything they need to know about their favorite sports teams. With the season approaching, it needed to design and develop the app, implement a system to charge for premium content, configure user logins, and enable analytics.

Celerity's mobile app designers & developers created showcase sports apps for the Post-Gazette's coverage of the Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates in less than 5 months. The hybrid mobile apps boast a live "Games On Now" feed, live chats with reporters, podcast and multimedia galleries, personalized profiles, and social media integration.

The apps integrate with Gigya, Google Maps, Google Ads, Google Analytics, Brightcove video and a 3rd party pay gate for subscriptions, all on top of the Post-Gazette's custom content API.

The Acceleration?  The apps have created a sports community that is deeply engaged with the Post-Gazette's online content, increasing subscriptions and enhancing its brand.
